In a forested area in the central Netherlands, on 1 January 2014, an adult Buzzard was chased from its prey by an adult female Goshawk, the latter presumably the local breeding bird with a nest at some 200 m away from the site. When the Buzzard noticed the Goshawk, it did not mantle but froze on the spot and disappeared as soon as the Goshawk had taken over the prey.
