The presence of Haitia acuta, formerly known as Physa or Physella acuta, on the Isle of Terschelling, the Netherlands, is confirmed after some 40 years. This freshwater snail of North-American origin was found in considerable numbers in the small lake ‘Doodemanskisten’, near West-Terschelling in the autumn of 2003.
