On may 5th 2004 a Banana Slug, Ariolimax columbianus (Gould, 1851), was found alive at a garden centre in Emmen, The Netherlands. The Banana Slug is a species normally living in the Northwest of North America, from Alaska to South California. How did this huge slug, 21.5 cm in motion, cross the Atlantic ocean?
