On request of the corporation (Stichting Fort Abcoude) two times fieldwork was done. In total 55 different species of molluscs were found (terrestrial and freshwater). For an area of 8 hectare (of which 3 hectare freshwater) an considerable number thanks to the different biotopes. Fort Abcoude is a part of the former line of defence around Amsterdam.
