In October 2004, during the autumn excursion of the Dutch Malacological Society to Terschelling, one of the Dutch Waddensea islands, juvenile specimens of Radix auricularia were encountered in an artificial lake in the dunes near Hee. This find was thought to be the first one of this species on that island.
