A pool excavated for temporary storage of run off rainwater in 1999 has been investigated for the presence of aquatic molluscs in the autumns of 2002-2005. In the first year (2002) only two species were encountered, but this number increased in the following years to respectively 7, 8 and 11 species. The find of Anisus vorticulus in 2005 formed a real surprise, because that species had not been recorded from the Isle of Terschelling in the past.
