From 1988 until 2001 my colleague and I worked on the uninhabited Waddensea-island Rottumerplaat, a small island of 7 km², consisting mainly of salt marshes, young dunes and a dyke with some shrubs and trees. The tables show the molluscs that were found on the island between 1988 and 2001. 26 Species were found alive. Besides that gastropods, bivalves and cephalopods were collected on the beach. Some of these species are (sub)fossils, others live in deeper waters.
