It has recently been found by with molecular techniques that Ferrissia wautieri (Mirolli, 1960) is conspecific with Ferrissia fragilis (Tryon, 1863) and that Ferrissia clessiniana (Jickeli, 1882) belongs to another taxon. The Dutch species belongs to Ferrissia fragilis (Tryon, 1863), and should be named as such.
