On the Langevelder Slag beach N. of Noordwijk (Holland) the author has found a fairly well preserved shell of the exotic cephalopod Sepia pharaonis Ehrenberg, 1831. Specimens from Arcachon (France) (Lacourt, 1974) constitute the first European record for the species. For further particulars the student is referred to Lacourt (loc. cit.).
