According to Nordsieck (1969: 91) the galeomatid bivalve Vasconiella jeffreysiana (P. Fischer, 1873) occurs from Mogador (Morocco) to the Lusitanian Sea (i.e., the seas around Portugal). In 1971 my husband and I collected three valves of this species at Messange-Plage (France, departement des Landes). Two of these are in my private collection; the remaining one has been deposited in the Rijksmuseum van Natuurlijke Historie, Leiden, Holland.
