Lepidochitona monterosatoi Kaas & Van Belle, 1981, a new species for Jugoslavia

In 1979 Mr. G. Gulden (Westmaas) kindly donated 22 specimens of chitons to the author; this sample was collected by Mr. Gulden on 3.VIII.1976 near Murter, Dalmatia, Jugoslavia, on rocks dredged at a depth of 10-20 m. The material consists of one specimen of Ischnochiton rissoi (Payraudeau, 1826), 16 specimens of Chiton olivaceus Spengler, 1797, four specimens of Acanthochitona fascicularis (L., 1767), and one specimen of a species of Lepidochitona, which proved difficult to identify.
