Chronos fultoni Coen, 1922, was based on a single shell from Moroka, Papua New Guinea. The holotype is present in the Coen collection, Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The lectotype selection by Solem (1970) has to be considered invalid; transfer of the species to Paryphantopsis Thiele, 1928, is accepted.
