Torinia (Torinia) rosae Selli, 1973, from the Quaternary of Massawa, Ethiopia, is here considered a junior synonym of Heliacus variegatus (Gmelin, 1791). Mangonuia (Awarua) aloysii Selli, 1973, from the same layers is transferred to Pseudotorinia and provisionally considered a valid species.
