Scheepmaker, Voorhoeve en Rethaan Macaré en hun malacologische eponiemen (Notes on the history of the malacological collection of the Zoölogisch Museum Amsterdam, no. 7.)

Biographical data is presented relating to G. Scheepmaker Wzn., J. Voorhoeve H.Czn. and F.J.M. Rethaan Macaré-Ontijd and their malacological collections. The following species were named after Scheepmaker: Helix scheepmakeri Pfeiffer, 1850, Auricula scheepmakeri Petit, 1850, Macha scheepmakeri Dunker, 1852, Thracia scheepmakeri Dunker, 1852, Avicula (Meleagrina) scheepmakeri Dunker, 1872 and Fasciolaria scheepmakeri Tryon or Melvill, 1881. A single species was named after Voorhoeve: Lucina voorhoevei Deshayes, 1857. Cyclostoma macareae Petit, 1853 and Conus macarae Bernardi, 1857 were named after Mrs. Rethaan Macaré. The Zoölogisch Museum Amsterdam owns type material of Helix scheepmakeri, Auricula scheepmakeri and Cyclostoma macareae. The Museum für Naturkunde der Humboldt-Universität in Berlin has the type material of Avicula (Meleagrina) scheepmakeri. The Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle in Paris maintains syntypes of Cyclostoma macareae and the holotype of Conus macarae.
