A sinistral specimen of the Greek dunesnail Cernuella jonica (Mousson, 1854) (= C. cidalpina (Rossmassler, 1837) German and Italian authors) was found alive in a mixed colony of C. jonica and Candidula intersecta (Poiret, 1801) along Highway A-7, in polder the Beemster, province North-Holland, The Netherlands. This seems to constitute the first ever record of a sinistral specimen of C. jomica.
