Over het onderscheid tussen Dreissena van Beneden, 1835 en Mytilopsis Conrad, 1858

According to Kadolsky (1995) there seems to be no conchological characters that warrant a distinction between Mytilopsis and Dreissena. It is therefore proposed to assign both Dutch dreissenoid species (viz. D. polymorpha and M. leucophaeata) to the genus Dreissena.
