Boontjes plukken op het strand, u bedoelt?

During the preparation of my holidays to the Algarve (Portugal) I studied some books to find out, which shells I might find on the shore. I was surprised by a description of the genus Phaseolus, which I associate with snap beans (P. vulgaris) in my garden. I wonder whether it is accepted in nomenclature to use the same Latin name for a plant and an animal genus, because this may create confusion.
