According to the ICZN Article 1(c) it is allowed to use the same Latin name for a plant and an animal genus. Ockelman & Warén (1998) have restricted the genus Phaseolus to the fossil species P. ovatus Seguenza, 1877, whereas according to them the genus Microgloma comprises M. pusilla (Jeffreys, 1879), M. tumidula (Monterosato, 1880) and, with doubt, M. guilonardi (Hoeksema, 1993).
