In the Netherlands, the landsnail Lauria cylindracea (Pupillidae) has been reported from only a handful of sites, which, except for two unconfirmed records, are located fairly close to the sea. This paper reports the discovery of another population near Wageningen, province of Gelderland, in the central part of the country. The origin of this population is discussed. In 1986-1990 the species was also found in a hothouse devoted to tropical orchids in Wageningen.
