Notes on recent and fossil Neritoidea 25. Something about the identity of Septaria junghuhni. Septaria junghuhni (Von Martens, 1881) has been wrongly placed into the synonymy of Septaria borbonica (Bory de St. Vincent, 1803) by Van Benthem Jutting (1956). In fact S. borbonica is a species confined in its distribution to the oceanic islands in the western part of the Indian Ocean. Septaria borbonica sensu Van Benthem Jutting is S. junghuhni = S. cumingiana (Récluz, 1842), as already has been pointed out in the past by Mienis (1971).
