Landsnails along railway embankments, 2. The section of the former steamtram Kwadijk-Edam, Noord-Holland, The Netherlands. Four small and isolated sections of the former steamtramline Kwadijk-Edam still exist in or near the polder ‘de Purmer’. Twenty species of terrestrial molluscs were encountered alive: 13 snails and 7 slugs. The most exciting find formed the discovery of a specimen of Boettgerilla pallens. The general absence of species typical for dry and very wet biotopes was noted.
