Marie C. Fehr-de Wal recently passed away at the age of 91 years. She will be remembered among malacologists for her interest in European marine micro-molluscs as well as for her collection of papers about the lives of malacologists from the past. She also served a term as secretary-adjunct of the Dutch Malacological Society and was a wellknown visitor of the NNM/Naturalis in Leiden.
