In the early evening of 22 June 2015 an adult female Goshawk was seen depredating eggs of Black-headed Gull in a colony with floating nests in a peatland in the north of The Netherlands. No records of Goshawks eating eggs where found in literature. However, it is reasonable to assume that egg consumption must have remained undetected in most dietary studies as a consequence of methods in dietary studies used. Exactly how rare this event was, is difficult to tell.
