Een biddende Boomvalk Falco subbuteo: sprake van imitatiegedrag?

An adult male Hobby was recorded whilst hovering in farmland in the western Netherlands, on 30 June 2019 (7.02 h local time). The bird used the strong wind and hovered like a Kestrel, rapidly flapping its wings and occasionally hanging still with fanned tail-feathers. No catching attempts were registered. In 2018, on 17 September (11.29 h local time), an inexperienced juvenile was also seen hovering, but only for very short intervals (in fact: breaks in normal flight) during attempts to capture insects.
