In this article the author describes the discovery of a few pollen grains of Pinus in Cretaceous chert. The chert was found in a gravel pit near Langenboom in the northeast of the province of Noord-Brabant in the Netherlands, the Peelhorst region. The gravel belongs to Middle Pleistocene fluvial deposits (Veghel Formation) of the river Meuse. The chert originates from Cretaceous limestone and chalk in the province of Zuid-Limburg and the adjacent Belgian area.
