Between 1990 and 2004 on the so-called ‘gritfabriek’in Yerseke, among fossil shells gathered from different sources, the author found often recent looking Anomia ephippium. It is shown that these were collected in an area north of Walcheren. Also two findings after sand suppletion on nearby beaches are reported. These shells have the same recent appearance and it is likely that in this area a population of Recent Anomia ephippium is or has been living.
