An adult Common Buzzard was found entangled in a kite’s string in the Forestry of Appelscha. Presumably, the bird had flown underneath the forest canopy, came in contact with the string with its wingtip and twirled around it. The string got firmly attached to the ninth primary (see photos), probably followed by prolonged fluttering. The weakened Buzzard was cut loose, taken in custody and released wellfed the following day.
